Description: The Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America (S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A.) held their 13th Annual International Contest in Toledo, Ohio in 1951, and this set of three red 78 RPM discs, recorded by Neff Recording Co. of Detroit, MI features the Top 5 finalists:Schmitt BrothersKeystone QuadsClef Dwellers (misspelled as "Cleff" Dwellers on the record label)Four ChordersAntlersSchmitt Brothers recorded two songs on disc 1; the other finalists have one song (one side) each on the remaining two discs. Sound quality of these 78s is not as clear as later LPs, although our turntable may not have had the best stylus for playing them. They sound pretty good regardless, and there were no issues with playback. The album notes are in English. The outer album shows handling and edge wear all over, but is still intact and in good condition, as are the three inner sleeves bound inside. NOTES:Album sleeves may have a small index sticker, usually in the upper right corner of the back, which was applied when the album was first purchased for this private collection. Please be sure you know the Shipping charge to your address before bidding.
