Description: RARE *WORKING* Vintage Schimel P22 Pellet Pistol .22 in fair cosmetic condition and perfect operating condition, with complete operating manual (see pic -- written by Karl P., who is the leading expert on these pistols and has written four books on the Schimel) AND is included on a data CD along with a lot of other useful information, reviews, diagrams, tips, etc. about the Schimel – how’s that for service?! **As a bonus, I am also including twenty 8-gm CO2 cartridges and an extra end cap o-ring (they are common Buna-N 70 size 114 o-rings) with each pistol.** This one was professionally resealed (all 6 seals) circa 2017 by Karl P. This listing is serial number 3173X and these were produced in North Hollywood, CA between 1948-1954 by the Schimel company. I am selling this one and two others because I do not shoot this rare pistol regularly so it needs a new home! I see some “interesting” E-bay listings for this pistol that have absolutely no information as to the functionality of the pistol yet are listed as “used” rather than “for parts only”. Please see my video that demonstrates this actual listed pistol is in working condition – each listing has its own video (I can only list one otherwise I would include several) of the actual pistol in the listing. You won’t find any modern replica CO2 pistol with this amount of power, accuracy, and range – this one is loud and has a nice kick that turns heads. This American pistol has a unique and interesting story (the entire story is included on the data CD). It is an iconic long-out-of-production model so it is becoming more valuable and certainly an Americana collector’s item. Additional features include: OAL 9.3 inches, black fixed front sight, rear adjustable sight windage, plastic grips, manual safety, black epoxy finish, and weighs 2.5lbs. This is a single-shot model so it must be loaded for each shot. You will probably get up to 15 good shots from a single 8gm cartridge and that’s what’s expected. This Schimel DOES have “masking tape shims” on the bottom of the end cap as the piercing pin is properly “tuned” as long as you use “Mr. Fizz” CO2 cartridges, as other brands may vary slightly in length which can effect proper piercing. One of the other two listings has “masking tape shims” (and one does not) to accommodate the Mr. Fizz cartridges and they are there for a reason as stated in the included instructions manual by Karl P. Mr. Fizz 8gm cartridges are readily available on E-bay and from other sources. **This one probably has the least best overall finish and paint of the three listings and has the least original black finish.** Obviously, none of these listings are in “mint” condition as the pistols have been used so please review pics as you are the judge! Each of these listings has what I believe to be the original finish (or what remains of it) after 70-76 years! If you are seeking this pistol as a collector you already know it’s hard enough to find a nice one much less one that actually functions properly. If you are looking at this one you probably know what you’re looking at and if not already aware, please realize that this is not a novice airgun and has a learning curve. Further, it was not made of the best materials (which was a shame) so these pistols are known to be fragile. IF NOT OPERATED PROPERLY, THEY WILL BREAK AND THIS IS A KNOWN FACT REGARDING THIS PISTOL! Please be aware that if you purchase this pistol and become the new owner, it’s important to understand how this pistol functions though once you get used to operating it becomes second hand. However, I am including mostly everything you need to know about operating this pistol in a written manual (which is also on the data CD). THIS PISTOL CURRENTLY FUNCTIONS PROPERLY AS IT SHOULD. It is recommended that the ammo is .22 lead balls but I have used Crosman CP dome 14.3gr pellets with no issues or jamming – I cannot recommend any other pellets as I have not experimented. Bottom line…I implore you to read the operating instructions thoroughly and familiarize yourself with its operation BEFORE trying to operate this wonderful CO2 pistol. Most people would look at these pistols as a rare collector’s investment and the redeeming quality of purchasing a Schimel is that even if it does break, it’s still valuable as a collector’s item either as a conversation piece or if sold for parts. This pistol has plenty of other info and reviews on the web (and on the data CD) so I don’t plan to provide a dissertation extolling the virtues of this airgun, so please feel free to do your research to decide if this is an airgun you would like to own. It is definitely a unique pistol and valued by collectors even when they don’t operate! This pistol is in perfect operating condition and it just needs a new home that will give it more use than I give it. A nice addition to your pistol collection and fun to shoot indoors or outdoors. The pistol is in fair to good cosmetic condition for its age -- all my pistols listed (unless specified otherwise) are clean and in perfect working condition. Also a great training tool for handling of pistols and firearm safety !!! **FREE ECONOMY SHIPPING IN CONUS** If this airgun is not to your liking or interest, you may find one of my other current E-bay airgun listings more suitable. If interested I will be listing quite a few quality airguns throughout 2024-2025, so if interested please save me as a seller and check them out! Shipped only where legal and your purchase acknowledges that legality. I am also on the former Yellow Forum BOI and the current Airgun Warriors BOI as both an airgun seller and buyer with all positive feedback. If you’re looking for a beat-up, abused airgun at a giveaway price – my airgun listings are not for you – I am not desperate for cash so please do not send messages with silly lowball prices. My prices are take into account paying for E-Bay fees and shipping (sometimes across the US) while still getting a fair price for a quality (and often rarer) airgun, and so the buyer need not have to join other airgun forums just to purchase my airguns if listed there. DISCLAIMER - PLEASE READ BEFORE CONSIDERING ANY AIRGUN PURCHASES !! As a personal policy, I don't accept any returns or give refunds on the airguns I sell as the listed airgun is working as described (unless clearly stated otherwise) when sold and I cannot account for any misuse or damage once a buyer begins to use the airgun. Again, no returns or refunds! Unfortunately, there are too many scammers getting airguns (especially vintage ones) and removing parts from them then trying to return the airgun... so, in no way, shape or form do I accept returns as stated...if you can't abide by these simple terms, this listed item is not for you!!! IF YOU BUY IT, YOU NOW OWN IT AND YOU MAY FEEL FREE TO RESELL IT ACCORDINGLY. My feedback is a 100 percent positive on E-Bay, Airgun Warriors BOI, American Airgun Classifieds, and the former Yellow Forum BOI. I have a good reputation in the airgunner world so feel confident with a safe and easy transaction, as well as fast, secure, and tracked shipping. I have shipped airguns to many parts of the world and they are extremely well packed. I truly regret that these terms may appear harsh to some but unfortunately my experience with dealings in today's world has necessitated these terms for my own protection. As you can see, I do as much research as I can on each listing and attempt to describe it as accurately as possible - - the buyer will need to assume all risk so DO NOT purchase unless you agree to these terms! Further, the buyer assumes all responsibilities for laws pertaining to or regarding the ownership, use, or carrying of this item. The buyer must be 18 years of age to bid or purchase this item. Please review all of the pictures listed and judge for yourself on the overall condition. I will be happy to provide as many other pictures that you request if necessary but also remember that others are also considering purchasing this item so time is often of the essence. You will receive the exact item(s) listed and what you see is what you will receive. If you have any questions please ask them as I have no problems with total self-disclosure. Please be sure to research the airgun yourself to make sure this is a good fit for you and keep in mind that many vintage airguns or "higher-end" airgun listings may not be the best choice for novice or inexperienced airgunners. As with all airguns I sell, it sold as-is and there are no guarantees on seals. With older airguns the seals can fail anytime especially not knowing when seals were changed last, if ever. If I have records that an airgun was resealed at a particular time I will disclose that, though I may not have actual records remaining. For privacy reasons I CANNOT disclose the names or contact information of my personal airgun tuners or airgunsmiths and I only do basic maintenance on my own airguns. I attempt to provide full disclosure, maintain a good reputation in the airgun world, and do not/will not sell junk or malfunctioning airguns unless stated otherwise in detail. Thanks for looking and feel free to ask any questions or request further pics prior to purchasing! This listing complies with eBay’s air gun guidelines found here and I will only sell and ship air guns to buyers in jurisdictions where permitted by applicable laws http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/firearms-weapons-knives.html
