Description: Bank of Belgian Congo 1941 Ten Francs Banknote Pick 14 Nice Very Fine Note For your World Currency Collection-PCU1848* Details Description: A nice very fine or better banknote from the Belgian Congo. This is the December 10, 1941 ten Francs currency note issued by the Bank of the Belgian Congo. The banknote is green on blue and pink underprint. The front depicts the Watusi Dancers with trees and a hut in the background to the left of center. The front also has the serial number and two signatures. It also shows the denomination in number and in French. The back is written in Flemish and depicts huts, trees and soldiers again colored in green with blue and pink underprint. The note has a watermark showing the head of an Okapi and is dated 10.12.41. This particular note has the serial number A225776, which is displayed twice in black on the front. Please carefully review scans presented as they are part and parcel of our description. Date: 10.12.41 (December 10, 1941). Printer: Waterlow & Sons Limited of London England Size: The banknote measures ~5 1/8" by ~3 3/8". Pick Number: P 14 and is listed in the Banknote Book as B211a. Condition: I would grade this banknote as very fine or better with all the details being well preserved. The note has several vertical folds and a possible horizontal fold. The note has some overall wrinkling and is lightly soiled. It does have some small and rather minor stains especially along the bottom edge as well as some vertical brown soiling or staining along the central vertical fold which can be seen on the front of the note. The note has some minor roughness to the edges but has no tears or splits. The corners are intact with some bumps and are lightly rounded. The note retains some of its original stiffness and crispiness. It is intact with no tears or splits. The note has no graffiti, no pinholes, and no major objectionable stains.
